Blubber Experiment - Senior Infants

Science Experiment

This week we have been learning about animals in cold regions. We did an experiment on how animals can keep warm with their blubber in their bodies. We had 2 bowls of cold water with ice cubes in it. This would be like the water in the Antartica. We covered one finger in Vaseline on one hand and nothing on the other hand. We noticed that the finger covered in Vaseline wasn’t as cold as our other finger. We learnt that blubber helps to keep penguins warm.
