Junior Infants learnt all about The Lifecycle of a Frog in Aistear last week. They learnt about the 4 stages of the cycle. They got very creative in Arts and Crafts and made a frog using a paper plate for the body, red strip of paper rolled up for the tongue and handprint cut outs for the legs along with googley eyes. They also using green crep paper to cover the outline of the frog.
We learned the rhyme ‘I’m a Little Tadpole’ and also recited the poem ‘Five Speckled Frogs’ where the boys really enjoyed doing the actions.
In Aistear, the water station proved very popular. We used white marbles to represent the eggs and cut up black pipe cleaners to replicate the tadpoles. There were also some froglets in the water. The boys really enjoyed exploring here.
Finally, Junior Infants used playdoh to replicate other eggs/ mini tadpoles and to cover the outline of a frog.
