Junior Infants were learning all about ‘The Lifecycle of a Frog’ last week in Aistear. They learned about the four stages of the cycle. They enjoyed the various art activities throughout the week which included painting a lily pad for a frog and using green crepe paper to cover the outline of the frog. This activity also contributed to the development of their fine motor skills.
We recited the rhyme ‘I’m a Little Tadpole’ and ‘Five Speckled Frogs’. The boys really enjoyed doing the actions!
In Aistear, the water station proved to be very popular. We used white marbles to represent the eggs and black pipe cleaners to represent the tadpoles. There were also some froglets in the water. The boys really enjoyed this and were very creative with their ideas here.
Finally, the third station was marla. They had to make eggs, tadpoles, froglets and frogs on the play-doh mat.
