The Pizza Parlour in Junior Infants

Last week’s Aistear theme focused on ‘The Pizza Parlour’. There were plenty of fun activities throughout the week which the boys engaged in.

The three stations in Aistear included Role Play, Arts and Crafts and Messy Play with salt dough.

The boys set up the tables in the Pizza Parlour with menus and cutlery ahead of a busy evening serving pizza. They shared the roles of waiters, customers and the chef at the role play station. The chef cooked the pizzas in a wood fired oven.

The Art and Craft station involved painting pizza bases and then adding various toppings with cut out of various shapes and colours.

The salt dough activity at the third station was great fun. The boys loved rolling the pizzas and making different shapes while pretending they were working in The Pizza Parlour. This active learning here also contributed to the development of fine motor skills.

We made real pizzas at the end of the week using various toppings as a treat to conclude our learning of ‘The Pizza Parlour’ theme in Aistear.

Have a look at the fun that Junior Infants had throughout the week!
