After-School Care
Recognising the need for after-school care, St. Mary’s College Junior School offers two options:
1. Stay-Back
Stay- Back takes place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for brothers of boys taking part in after-school rugby/cricket. Stay-Back commences at 2.45pm and finishes at 3.45pm. At 3.45pm, boys may leave the classroom and meet their brothers at the front pitch. This service is strictly for siblings waiting for their brothers to finish after-school sports. There is no charge for this service.
2. Homework Club
Homework Club runs on a daily basis from 2.45pm - 5.30pm. During Homework Club, food is provided and children are supervised doing their homework. Once homework is completed, the children have time to unwind and play.
English Reading and Irish Reading and spellings should be completed at home. Although homework is supervised during Homework Club, homework must be reviewed and checked at home. Homework journals must be signed by a parent/guardian every evening.
Homework Club is not available on the Friday of midterm breaks and on the last day of every term (see school calendar).
For catering and staffing purposes, all children attending Homework Club must be registered with Deirdre - junsec@stmarys.ie. For further information on cost, please contact the office. There is no drop-in service available.
